ATL hunt fourth win in Business House Netball Senior ‘A’/’B’ Leagues
APPLIANCE Traders Limited (ATL) will go on the hunt for their fourth win when they face Urban Development Corporation (UDC) as the 2017 Business House Netball Association (BHNA) combined Senior ‘A’/’B’ Leagues continue today at the Leila Robinson Courts, beginning at 7:00 pm.
The ATL aggregation, coached by Sasha-Gaye Henry, the current the national coach of the Senior Sunshine Girls squad, has won three matches from four starts, with their only loss to date being against Open League champions Scotiabank ‘A’.
So far, ATL have defeated GraceKennedy 52-11, Sagicor Life ‘A’ 41-30, and Jamaica National Group 38-30, while losing 38-53 to Scotiabank ‘A’, who currently lead the points standing with four wins from as many starts.
ATL, who lost in the Open League final to Scotiabank ‘A’, have a very good chance of qualifying for the semi-finals, as they only need to win four of their next six matches to be assured of a berth in the semis.
Support for ATL’s victory will depend on mid-court players Sherika Dixon and Conique Moore, who should provide the scoring opportunities for the shooters, Captain Shian Gonzales and Shenova Edwards.
Meanwhile, UDC are not expected to make things easy for ATL and should produce their own shooting skills and centre court attacking plays. The UDC aggregation is also looking to be among the qualifiers but is expected to come up against several tough opponents in the preliminary round of matches.
The other matches scheduled this afternoon are EdCom Credit Union vs Stewart’s Automotive; AEROTEL/JCAA vs Jamaica Customs; Cari-Med Limited vs Norman Manley International Airport; FLOW Jamaica vs Guardsman Group, beginning at 5:45 pm.
At 7:00 pm, JMMB Merchant Bank vs WISYNCO; National Housing Trust ‘B’ vs Hardware and Lumber.
Results of matches played on Tuesday, Hardware and Lumber clipped GraceKennedy 26-25 in an Intermediate ‘A’ League encounter, while Jamaica Public Service got past Continental Baking Company 35-33 in a Intermediate ‘B’ League match.
Jamaica Maritime gained a walk over from Stewart’s Automotive in a Junior League game.
Meanwhile, all matches which were scheduled for last Saturday were postponed due to inclement weather which affected the island.
