Clutch those pearls! Savannah Baker added Roxx to her Pum Pum edition of designs. You might have recalled those ever-so-cute-looking socks that found favour with Rihanna and Madonna, among others. Well, the enterprising daughter of famed hotelier Jon Baker along with her business partner Gemma Shane from Bermuda collaborated with artisan-cum-jeweller Errol ‘Ninja Star’ Winston, created Pum Pum Roxx — one-of-a-kind handmade pieces crafted from recycled and upcycled pieces.

The small home goods company Antillean was granted a place at the prestigious 14th International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which took place July 13 – 16. The highly competitive International Folk Art Market is recognised as the number 1 arts festival in the United States. Jamaica was one of only 52 countries able to secure a place out of 600 applications from around the world.

On the heels of a scintillating performance at Reggae Sumfest, resident dancehall vixen Spice was given the ultimate sartorial compliment by the global fashion industry’s bible, Vogue , which fawned over the So Mi Like It singer’s bold, bawdy mode of dress, raving that her Sumfest stage persona was “[a] perfect example of the artist’s fearless, ever-changing wardrobe — one that is redefining dancehall style”.
SO found delirious delight in Vogue scribe Deidre Dyer’s acknowledgement of Spice’s fashion-forward sensibilities but harkened back to the the dancehall genre’s flashy factor, so vividly embodied by preceding counterparts of the 1980s and 1990s.
