Friendship, McAuley in Insports St Catherine Primary Schools football final
McAuley Primary and Friendship Primary will contest the Insports St Catherine Primary School Football final, after semi-final wins on Friday.
McAuley Primary had a come-from-behind 2-1 triumph over Ensom City Primary, while Friendship Primary blanked Marlie Mount Primary 2-0 in the double-header at the Homestead Community Centre.
In the early game, Ensom City Primary took the lead in the fifth minute via Akiel Morris, placing the defending champions under immediate pressure.
McAuley Primary hit back early into the second half through Rojay Taylor’s 34th- minute goal, before Rico Campbell fired them in front nine minutes later.
Marlie Mount Primary were on a high after their netball team won the parish title earlier at the same venue, but their spirits were shattered by the brilliant Jaedeo Mitchell who scored in the 37th and 52nd minutes to give Friendship Primary a deserved victory.
The final is set for tomorrow at Homestead starting 12:30 pm and will be preceded by the third-place kick-off at 11:00 am.
