JPS meets with mothers of electrocuted Negril men
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) is reporting that a top level team yesterday met with the mothers of the two young men, Oshane Powell and Renaldo Johnson, who were electrocuted in Negril, West End by power lines earlier this week.
The JPS team included the director for Region West and the acting parish manager.
According to a JPS statement the team gave assurances that they would continue to dialogue with the mothers as the investigation into the incident continues.
“The company again expresses regret at the loss of life and conveys sincere condolences to the families,” the statement said.
In the meantime the JPS said that electricity has been restored to the community of Westland Mountain, where the incident occurred.
JPS said crews were able to gain access to the area last evening after road blocks were cleared, following protests in the community over the death of the two.
