MEET THE SUPREMES: Kimone Reid

Get to know more about your favourite ladies with our new feature series ‘Meet the Supremes’, which takes a closer look at the lives of our Supreme talent both on and off duty.

Kimone Reid started her career at Supreme Ventures at the Odyssey Gaming Lounge in 2013. This shy young lady from St Mary was invited to join the draw team three years ago and has been making her mark ever since.

How did you end up at Supreme?

I’ve been with Supreme for four years. I was working at the Odyssey Gaming Lounge and then I got an email from HR (Human Resource) saying that there was a vacancy for customer support. I did the interview; however, afterwards they asked me if I wanted to be part of the draw team and here I am.

Why did you say yes?

To be honest, I was a bit unsure because anyone who knows me knows that I was extremely shy growing up. If anyone had told me a few years ago that Kimone would have been a presenter, I would say ‘Are you crazy or something?’, because I was really shy. This was really out of my comfort zone.

Do you remember your first draw?

Like it was yesterday. The talent has to be in position five minutes before the draw, and I was just there thinking that so many people are watching me, I don’t want to mess up. My heart was racing and when the draw finally started, I was shaking a little bit because I was really, really nervous, but I made it through.

Have you ever made a mistake?

Oh yes! I was doing the Pick 4 draw and the second number selected was five, but I said 15 and I could not get how I said 15 because Pick 4 does not have a 15, and I started laughing. I tried to stop because I was on live television, but I couldn’t stop.

Tell us about your fan base?

My biggest fans are the people in Annotto Bay, where I’m from. They’re always excited so when I go home it’s like “Hey Kimone! Kimone!” I don’t get recognised a lot, but I do have a few do uble takes.

Do people ask you for numbers?

All the time. Even when I just have on the Supreme Ventures-branded shirt, and some persons tell me that they have luck when I work or don’t have any luck — it goes both ways.

What is your favourite food?

Ackee and saltfish and dumplings. I love dumplings.

What school did you attend?

I attended Mary Mount High.

What is your favourite pastime?

I enjoy shopping online and I watch a lot of reality shows. My favourite is Real Housewives of Atlanta. I like Married to Medicine as well. I watch quite a bit of reality TV. I like to buy a lot of shoes and dresses online; I pretty much buy everything online and my favourite website is Agassi.

What do you do to de-stress?

Shop some more.

What do you eat when you’re sad?

Ice cream.

Where would your perfect date be?

On the beach.

Name one trait that you need in your perfect partner.

Honesty.
