Six people shot and injured in Oracabessa
ST MARY, Jamaica — Six people were shot and injured at a function in Oracabessa early this morning.
According to police the six were at the function when gunmen opened fire at the crowd injuring them.
The shooting reportedly happened about 1:30 am.
Five of the people who were shot remain hospitalised while one person has been treated and released.
The police have not yet established a motive for the shooting.
Superintendent Bobette Morgan, who took over as head of the parish earlier this week, said the police are still trying to determine the cause of the shooting. She pointed out that Oracabessa is not usually a troubled area in the parish.
