Molynes United make winning start in KSAFA Super League
Newly promoted Super League team Molynes United FC made a positive start to their KSAFA Super League campaign by defeating Maverley/Hughenden FC 3-1 at Maverley Park to forge ahead in Zone A with three points.
In other matches on the opening day of the Magnum/KSAFA Super and Major Leagues on December 15, Pembroke Hall FC held Real Mona FC 1-1 at Buttercup Park, while Maxfield Park travelled to Barbican FC for a share of points after both teams failed to score in Zone A.
In Zone B, Rae Town FC grabbed the lead with a good 2-0 lead over Santos FC at the Bell/Chung Oval for three points, while newly promoted Major League champions Mountain View FC and Central Kingston FC ended 0-0 at Winchester Park. In another match, Browns Town and Rockfort FC drew 1-1 at Vauxhall High School.
Meanwhile, Duhaney Park FC, campaigning in Zone A of the Major League, defeated Liguanea United FC 3-0 at Duhaney Park to take an early lead, while Constant Spring FC and Meadforest FC could only manage a 2-2 draw at Constant Spring.
In other matches, Stony Hill FC surprised Police National FC 2-0, while Cooreville Gardens FC and Red Hills FC shared the points by ending goalless.
The Super League resumes after the Christmas break on January 6 with Central Kingston FC facing Molynes United FC at Winchester Park; Pembroke Hall FC take on Mountain View FC at Excelsior; Santos FC and Maverley/Hughenden FC meet at the Bell/Chung Oval; Rae Town FC tackle Maxfield FC (venue to be announced); Rockfort FC host Real Mona FC at Rockfort; while Browns Town FC battle Barbican FC at Vauxhall.
The following day, the Major League gets back on track when Duhaney Park visit Shortwood; Stony Hill cross swords with Constant Spring (venue to be announced); Liguanea United FC and Cooreville Gardens FC meet at Liberty Academy; and Red Hills United FC and Police National FC set a date at Belvedere.
Meanwhile, the JN VISA/KSAFA Jackie Bell Knockout will kick off on January 27 with three matches involving Super League teams.
