‘Technical difficulties’ leave areas in Clarendon, St Thomas without water — NWC
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising that some customers are currently without regular water supply as a result of some technical challenges being experienced at two facilities in the parishes of Clarendon and St Thomas.
According to an advisory from the NWC, the Longville Park Well in Clarendon is currently out of service as a result of over voltage at the facility. The commission informed that the fault has been reported to the relevant agency for remedial work to commence shortly.
Therefore, customers will continue to have no water conditions until the issue is fully resolved.
Areas affected in Clarendon are Longville Park Housing Scheme and Freetown.
Meanwhile, NWC said in St Thomas customers served by the Goodyear/Springfield Deepwell pump are experiencing low or no water conditions as technical repairs are being conducted on the equipment.
Areas affected by this include: Seaforth, Lyssons, Springfield, Morant Bay and the environs.
The NWC said it regrets any inconvenience these challenges may cause and will resume full service to its valued customers, in the shortest possible time.
