Cops link Clarendon bust to guns-for-drugs trade; arrest 3 Haitians
THE Clarendon police say they have made a massive bust in connection with the illegal guns-for-drugs trade.
Four men, including three Haitians, were also arrested during the operation, which resulted in the seizure of $2 million and hundreds of assorted rounds of ammunition.
According to a release from the police Corporate Communications Unit, between 5:00 pm Tuesday and 1:00 am yesterday, premises on Sharp Avenue in the parish was searched and 547 assorted rounds of ammunition were found.
The police said the operation continued at premises on Hazard Drive, also in Clarendon, where $1.8 million, US$401 and CAD$5 were found.
The police have not yet released the identities of the four men in custody.
