Card promoted at Sagicor
Ingrid Card has taken another step up the corporate ladder having been appointed vice-president, corporate communications and brand experience at Sagicor Financial Corporation Limited.
The promotion, which took effect on January 1, 2018, will result in Card moving to Barbados from where she will streamline the group’s communication strategy across all jurisdictions.
A company notice circulated to staff this week said that Card will also “focus on integrating corporate and local efforts to deliver key business growth and reputation goals”.
In addition, she will “provide global and regional brand guidance and implementation oversight by collaborating with the group’s leadership in marketing and public relations. With brand ownership, she will also ensure a consistent brand experience across all entities.”
According to the company, the job “is a key corporate-level position with significant responsibility for advancing the mission and strategic success of the Sagicor Group of companies as a leader in the financial services industry”.
Card joined Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited in 2009 after leaving the Jamaica Observer, where she served as marketing manager. Before the Observer, she was marketing and promotions co-ordinator at CVM-TV.
“I’ve always been inspired to do my best and I just can’t settle for second best,” she told the Business Observer in an interview in 2012, when she promoted to assistant vice-president for group marketing at Sagicor Jamaica.
In 2015, she was appointed to the post of vice-president, group marketing and executive director, Sagicor Foundation. She also worked in sales and services in the tourism sector, specifically at Couples Sans Souci Resort and Spa.
Card holds a BSc, in international business, with a minor in marketing from Everest University, Florida, USA; and an MBA in marketing from the University of Technology, Jamaica.
