Road closures, traffic changes for ‘Shaggy and Friends’
KINGSTON, Jamaica — In order to facilitate the smooth staging of the Shaggy and Friends “Make a difference Concert” this evening at Jamaica House, the public is being advised of the following road closures and traffic diversions from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.
1. Hope Road between Trafalgar Road and lady Musgrave Road will be closed to vehicular traffic and consequently motorists travelling from Half Way tree Road destined for Papine will be diverted onto Trafalgar Road or any other route of their choice.
2. Ardenne Road at the intersection with Hope Road will be closed to vehicular traffic, and residents of the Trafalgar Park community are advised to enter and exit the community using Trafalgar Road.
3. Abbeydale Road will be closed at its junction with Hope Road.
4. East Kings Road between Paddington Terrace and Hope Road will be closed to vehicular traffic. Consequently, motorists travelling from Barbican will be diverted along Paddington Terrace, while those travelling out of Paddimgton Terrace will be diverted right onto East Kings House Road towards Barbican.
5. West Kings House Road (upper section) and Waterloo Road will be closed to vehicular traffic. Consequently, motorists travelling along Lower West Kings House will therefore utilise Waterloo Road in either direction. Those travelling along Waterloo Road will continue along Waterloo Road.
Notwithstanding these closures access will be allowed to patrons, residents and those wishing to attend the Andrews Memorial Hospital.
TICKET HOLDERS AND PARKING
Gold and Silver ticket holders will access East Kings House Road for parking on the East Kings House Lawn.
Platinum ticket holders will access Devon Road to the rear entrance of Jamaica House for parking on the play field.
Shuttle buses will be provided from East King’s House Lawn to and from the event.
The concert, which is in its sixth year, is looking to raise US$1,000,000 for the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Kingston.
