Illegal handguns found in 50-y-o man’s home shortly after $40k drug fine
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — Hours after 50-year-old Dalton Green was fined more than $40,000 for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act in the Westmoreland Parish Court, law enforcement officers searched his home and found two illegal handguns.
Lawmen are now speculating that the seizure is directly lined to the guns for drugs trade between Jamaica and Central American countries.
The officers reportedly conducted a search of Green’s home in Peggy Barry district in Grange Hill, Westmoreland about 2:20 pm yesterday where they found the illegal firearms and more than 100 rounds of ammunition.
The weapons found are an Intratec 9mm sub-machine gun with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition and one 9mm pistol with a magazine containing eight rounds.
An additional 104 9mm rounds of ammunition were also found.
Green is scheduled to appear before the Western Regional Gun Court on Thursday, January 18 for the firearm charges.
Investigations are ongoing.
