Robert Minott wants a Rub A Dub Party
WITH the recent increase in crime and violence in Montego Bay, Robert Minott has penned the single Rub A Dub Party.
According to the reggae singer, the track is in an effort to promote love and unity among Jamaicans as he believes his music will help to lift people’s spirits and offer a soothing and ‘mello’ vibe.
“I wanted to remind people of the days of ‘rub a dub’ at parties when the vibe was nice and there was no fighting, aggressiveness or hate. It is a very difficult time for all Jamaican families now, and as an entertainer I want to give back through my music,” he told Jamaica Observer.
Rub A Dub Party was released on October 2017 on the World Beat Music Group Inc/Kirkledove Records label. It is available for purchase on all online platforms.
Last year 335 of the Jamaica’s 1,612 murders occurred in the tourist capital of St James.
Minott began his career in the ’80s has made a name for himself on the local and international scene.
Hailing from Kingston, the singer now resides in the United States.
He is known for tracks including: Irie, featuring Bunny Rugs and Jamaican-born NFL player Marlon “Ultimate” Greenwood; and Roll It with dancehall act Elephant Man.
He is one of the featured artistes on the second annual staging of Red Rose for Gregory slated for the Jamaica College auditorium in St Andrew on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
