EUROPEAN FOOTBALL — Hot encounters in Spain, Italy

Tomorrow, Saturday, January 27, and Sunday, January 28, we have two mouth-watering encounters for football fans across the globe. Firstly, let’s jet over to Spain where two of the country’s heavy-hitters, Valencia and Real Madrid, will be trading blows for 90 minutes, after which you are transported eastward over to Italy to witness the scorching-hot Lazio aiming to out-blaze the fiery AC Milan.

Liverpool, so impressive in their dismantling of Europe’s best in-form team, Manchester City, took their speedy “Formula One” front-line to South Wales but were brought to grinding halt by their bogey team, Swansea. The Kopites had to leave South Wales on a flatbed tow truck.

In recent times, this must be the largest gap in the league race between Spains’ two titans. There is currently a 19-point chasm between league leaders Barcelona and an out-of-sorts looking Real Madrid. Real Madrid has now been relegated to fighting for Champions League spot for next season’s competition, with the jaded Galacticos sitting just a point ahead of fifth-placed Villarreal and five points adrift of Valencia, albeit with a game in hand. Now who will Real Madrid be facing this Saturday? Of course, in the drama-filled European football world, it has to be Valencia. After beating a hapless La Coruna 7:1 last week, the men in white from the Bernabeu will be hoping to put together a nice unbeaten run to ensure they finish the season in the top four; however, this Valencia team is unbeaten in their last three home games against Real Madrid and are sure to make it super difficult for Madrid to even salvage a point. In this reverse fixture played in August 2017, Valencia went to Madrid and came away with a 2-2 draw. This fixture has always served up plenty of goals as their last seven head-to-head matches have had 3 or more goals, with three of those games ending 2-2.

My betting tip? Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.

The JustBet Odds on the match are as follows:

• Valencia to win $4.60, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $4,600.

• Real Madrid to win $1.63, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $1,630.

• Odds of a draw, $4.50, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $4,500.

• Odds on the home team (Valencia) winning the game 3-2 at full time, $28, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $28,000.

• Odds on the away team (Real Madrid) winning the game 2-3 at full time, $17, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $17,000.

• Odds on the game drawing 2-2 at full time, $13, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $13,000!!!

Now, to Sunday’s high noon Serie A blazer, where the red-hot Lazio take their impressive goal-scoring form to face an improving Milan side that is seeking back-to-back wins. Milan will have their hands full in trying to contain this Lazio team who are scoring goals for fun, in recent games.

Expect a lively and high-tempo affair, bearing in mind that when both teams met earlier this season. Lazio hammered Milan 4-1 on the day. There’s every chance the fans will see a real football festival of goals in the city on Sunday. Lazio have not lost on the road this season, and 10 of their 11 games have had over 2.5 goals with them hitting the net with such regularity that they are the best attacking team on the road in the Italian league this season. With the game being played at 12 noon, football lovers will be treated to fantastic game of football. Grab a beer, or two, and enjoy!!

My prediction: Lazio to win and over 2.5 goals

The odds are as follows:

• Milan to win $2.40, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $2,400.

• Lazio to win $3.00, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $3,000.

• Odds of a draw, $3.35, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $3,350.

• Odds on the home team (Milan) winning the game 3-1 at full-time, $18, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $18,000.

• Odds on the away team (Lazio) winning the game 1-3 at full-time, $25, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $25,000.

• Odds on the game drawing 3-3 at full-time, $45, which means that a $1,000 bet would pay $45,000!!!!!

Bets can be placed at any of the over 100 JustBet locations island-wide. Persons can visit JustBetJA.com for verification of odds and a full array of betting options.

Valencia’s Portuguese forward Goncalo Guedes will be leading the charge forValencia against Real Madrid.
