Ambassador! Doin’ it for everyone

Foodie News… Foodie News…Foodie News…

Ambassador Bar & Grill came under our radar recently, the result of a visit to the consular offices of the US Embassy. We later gleaned that it has been gathering quite a buzz as the go-to food, drink and game spot in the area. The establishment’s owner Orlando James explained to Thursday Food that the name never fails to trigger conversation.

“We needed a good name to go with the location [across from the US Embassy],” he said. That done, it was about creating an appetising menu of popular local options like brown stewed, fried or steamed fish; ackee and salt fish; oxtail; barbecued-fried chicken. Plus, pastas, like chicken Alfredo.

Food aside, the quality customer service has not gone unnoticed. “Customer feedback has been great so far; we have a lot of repeat customers and I think it’s because everybody likes the spot. The ambiance is nice; it’s an outdoor-indoor space, and we always have a good vibe here. Staff and customers are friendly, and the environment — I can’t stress enough — is really great,” James outlined. Indeed, James has another under construction downtown.

“We’re working on another establishment and our expectation, for the future, is to be bigger and better. If you hark back to what this area looked like — an empty lot — you can see how far we have come. It’s been nothing but improvement,” James shared.

We wish nothing but the best for James and his team of six at Ambassador Bar & Grill, and they certainly get our nod for a great little chill spot that soothes the mind and, perhaps more importantly, satiates the palate.
