Transport Authority delists Portmore Route Taxi Association
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Transport Authority has delisted the Portmore Route Taxi Association for breaches of the terms and conditions of their approval as a route taxi association effective February 21, 2018.
According to a release from the Authority this afternoon, the delisting of the association follows a meeting held with the president and another executive of the association where issues surrounding the delisting where fully ventilated.
The issues surrounding the delisting were not made public.
The Transport Authority said that in order to minimise the inconvenience to licensees affiliated with Portmore Route Taxi Association it has met and made arrangements with the presidents of five other route taxi associations operating in St Catherine to facilitate the processing of transactions for the affected licensees.
In the meantime, the Transport Authority said it will be convening an emergency meeting with licensees affiliated with the Portmore Route Taxi Association on Thursday at 10:00 am at the Royal Oasis at the Power of Faith Ministries, Lot 13, Portmore Town Centre, Port Henderson, to discuss the delisting of the association and the arrangements which have been made to accommodate the processing of transactions of the affected licensees.
