Immigration officer killed in motor vehicle crash in Guyana
GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) — The police have launched an investigation into an accident late Saturday that claimed the life of an immigration officer and her companion in Guyana.
The police report that the Immigration Officer Mirwava Chase, 25, was a passenger on a motorcycle that was being driven by Berket King, 24.
The incident occured shortly before 10:00 pm (Guyana time), when King lost control and slammed into the median.
According to the police, they were both flung from the motorcycle.
King was killed on the spot, while the young woman passed away after being rushed to the Georgetown Hospital.
