Miss Jamaica World Cornwall launched

MONTEGO BAY, St James — Following the recent launch of the Miss Jamaica World Pageant by new franchise holder, Crown of Beauty Jamaica Limited, Complete Entertainment (CES) Services last week launched the county’s version of the prestigious pageant for the western region – Miss Jamaica World Cornwall- at Pier One in Montego Bay.

CES has held the franchise for the Cornwall county since 2012.

At the launch, executive producer of Miss Jamaica World – Cornwall Junior Taylor announced that this year’s event would be held at Pier 1 on July 5, adding that the search was now on for contestants to enter the pageant.

The pageant will be produced and choreographed by Peta Gaye King.

Co-franchise holder of the national pageant Weston Haughton encouraged the capacity crowd at the launch to “look out for that lady who would be an exemplary representative of ‘My Jamaican Woman’.”

Reigning Miss Jamaica World Solange Sinclair, who is a Montegonian, urged the women in attendance to “step up and allow your voices to be heard, and create your own purpose”.
