Thursday Night in the City Stop # 1 — CRU Bar & Kitchen

Counting Down To The 20th Staging Of The Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards, Thursday, May 31, 2018

Our first stop, Thursday last, was CRU Bar & Kitchen, where, guided by fellow judge Pauline Edie and ably assisted by the establishment’s operation coordinator Neil Miranda, we enjoyed quite a few new menu offerings. Regulars and the not-so-regulars will find something to delight their palates while the realistic pricing will elicit wide smiles. It’s also heartening to note that CRU, whose doors opened in 2012, is still a preferred after-work haunt for corporate execs, educators and those eager to enjoy an evening in the city. The feedback, not just because Miranda says so — we spoke to quite a few customers — on the new menu is positive. Indeed, what was instructive to learn was just how much wine is consumed each month and that a wine bar can rake in between $700,000-$900,000 per month with Moscato and Pinot Grigio leading the pours for customers aged 22 and above.

Take our lead and enjoy the atmosphere and offerings at CRU and share your feedback @whyten@jamaicaobserver.com
