MONTEGO BAY, St James — Obrie n Robinson was on Sunday named Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the play-offs in the Jamaica Football Federation Western Confederation/Charley’s JB Rum Super League after leading his team to an upset win over mid-season champions Faulkland FC at Jarrett Park.

Robinson played a big role in getting Wadadah FC to the final, scoring two goals in their 4-1 return-leg semi-final win over Reggae Youths for a 4-2 aggregate victory, a week before the final.

Reggae Youths won the first leg played at Elleston Wakeland Centre two weeks earlier 1-0, but Wadadah FC overturned the loss and went on to beat Faulkland FC 6-5 in sudden-death penalties in the final, denying the mid-season champions the double. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes of regulation and extra time.

Faulkland FC, who have made it to at least one final in the five years of their existence, were losing in a league final for the second time. This season, however, they did not leave empty- handed, as they collected awards for mid-season champions and for fair play.

Faulkland FC’s Renaldo McLeish won the award for top scorer after he netted 12 goals, including one in each leg of the semi-finals against Harmony FC.
