UPDATE: Cops charge three foreign nationals nabbed at NMIA with over US$93,000
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Three foreign nationals who were held at the Norman Manley International Airport on Sunday with cash totalling over US$93,000 have been charged under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
They have been identified as Claudia Clijdesale,30, and Ingrid Asaitie,31, both of Suriname addresses, and 31-year-old Delroy Sanduliet of a French Guiana address.
Police said the trio were formally charged with the following offences yesterday following investigations:
1. Possession of Criminal Property;
2. Concealing Criminal Property;
3. Attempting to Leave Jamaica with Criminal Property;
4. Facilitating the Retention of Criminal Property;
5. Conspiracy.
All three are scheduled to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, August 02.
Reports from the narcotics police are that about 2:45 pm, the three were about to board a flight destined for Guyana when they were accosted. They were searched by detectives and found to have US$93,000, SR$325, €150 and J$50 concealed on their persons. The monies were seized and they were arrested
