$1.6-m worth of ganja seized in St Elizabeth
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — The police have reported that approximately 400 pounds of compressed ganja, with an estimated street value of $1.6 million, was seized in Spice Grove in St Elizabeth on Thursday.
According to a report from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), lawmen were on an operation in the community about 9:30 pm when they found seven knitted bags containing 48 parcels of the compressed product.
CCU said the Narcotics police have since commenced investigations into the seizure and are now appealing to anyone with information to contact them at 923-5729, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
