ROSE HALL, St James — The Jamaica Football Federation will be going back to England to find players for the Reggae Boyz, and while football boss Michael Ricketts was hesitant to identify the players, he said all things being equal, the much-travelled Ravel Morrison should suit up soon.

At a press briefing held at Hilton Rose Hall yesterday, Ricketts said the former Manchester United starlet had been issued with his Jamaican passport, “so hopefully he could be part of the squad”. He also said the exciting Cardiff City striker Bobby Reid was being sought to join the Reggae Boyz.

The player, he said, “is on the shortlist but we are yet to contact him personally, but that name has been mentioned,” Ricketts admitted, though he said he would allow head coach Theodore Whitmore to say more about the players who were being sought when the time was right.

Ricketts said it was unlikely that any new players would be included in the national teams that will play Ecuador in a friendly international in New Jersey on September 7 and the Cayman Islands in a CONCACAF Nations League game at the National Stadium on September 9.

“The new players will not be included in this game, but we are looking at some young, bright, exciting prospects,” he said. “The coach has hinted at some names, but I don’t want to say too much about that right now.”
