Police still trying to determine cause of West St shooting
THE Kingston Western police are still trying to determine the cause of Sunday’s shooting of four teenagers on West Street in downtown Kingston.
Acting Senior Superintendent Howard Chambers told the Jamaica Observer that the police had not yet determined whether the four teenagers were targeted.
The police reported that approximately 6:00 pm the four — 16-year-old Nicholas Arnette, 16-year-old Christopher Kenton, 15-year-old Rockeem Clarke and Shanando Wilson — were among a group of individuals when a blue Toyota Corolla motor car with several armed men drove up. The men opened fire hitting the group.
Arnett was shot in his left foot, Clarke in both feet, while Kenton was shot in his left hand. The other boy was shot multiple times to in the upper body.
They were taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where they were admitted.
