Three Cheers for Mitsy Seaga-Mian
Across the Corporate Area on Monday, October 15, a number of luncheons and cocktails receptions took place to celebrate recipients of National Awards. Among them was Mitsy Seaga-Mian, who was conferred with the Order of Distinction in the rank of commander for her dedication to child safety and development and philanthropy. Along with founding the SOS Children’s Village, Seaga-Mian has overseen the refurbishing of several hospitals in Jamaica, was the main driver behind the children’s library for the Bustamante Children’s Hospital and organised a programme for Kingston’s “street-corner boys”.
After the morning’s ceremony at King’s House, close friends and family gathered in the Legacy Suite at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel to toast and celebrate Seaga-Mian. It was an intimate affair. Friday Social was among the guests saying “hip hip hooray” to this dedicated daughter of Jamaica, and now brings highlights.
