May Pen , Clarendon — ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup semi-finalists Clarendon College represent central Jamaica’s only hope of schoolboy football glory this year after St Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) and Lennon High were eliminated within 24 hours in their respective competitions last week.

Clarendon College, who were beaten in the first round of the ISSA Champions Cup, will go up against Dinthill Technical in one semi-final of the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup this week as they seek to make a back-to-back appearance in the final.

Clarendon College were beaten by Ruseas High in last season’s daCosta Cup final.

Seven-time champions, Clarendon are perfect in the 2018 daCosta Cup season with 13 straight wins while amassing 59 goals and conceding just four all season.

STETHS crashed out of the ISSA Champions Cup in the semi-finals on Friday, beaten 0-4 by Jamaica College, in their fourth appearance in the last four in the five years of the competition.

STETHS had fought their way into the semi-finals by beating title-holders Kingston College in sudden death penalty kicks in the first round then coming from behind to beat Charlie Smith High 2-1 in the quarter-finals.

Lennon High missed out on their second trip to the Ben Francis KO finals in three years after they lost 0-1 to Charlemont High in the semi-finals at Juici Park on Thursday.

Lennon High, the 2016 champions went into the game as favourites to advance after a 5-0 drubbing of Old Harbour High in the first round, a week earlier.
