Comprising more than 25 shows, reggae singer Gramps Morgan recently completed his first headlining solo tour of the United States.

The tour made stops in Hartford, Connecticut; Brooklyn, New York; Maryland; Minneapolis; Charlotte; Tarrytown (New York); Nashville, St Louis; Missouri, Mississippi; Houston, Dallas and Austin in Texas; and New Orleans.

The tour wrapped on November 22nd in West Palm Beach and saw Buju Banton making a cameo appearance, performing alongside Gramps Morgan on their chart-topping hit 23rd Psalm.

“Sharing the stage with Buju is always like a prayer. We’ve never sung any other songs together on stage, but it is always a special moment since the very first day we’ve performed together,” Morgan told Observer Online on Tuesday.

Accompanying Morgan on the Water in My Whiskey Fall Tour were his sons Jemere and Priel.

“It was good to have them on the tour and it really shows the legacy of the family, and I am looking forward to coming home and being a part of the healing process,” Morgan shared.

He described the tour as incredible.

“The overall experience with the tour was incredible even though I’ve toured as a part of Morgan Heritage for many years and I’ve toured as an opening act for people like Buju Banton and John Legend. This was my first ever headline tour in the United States. It was humbling to see a sold-out venue on the tour and also venues where it was not completely full, so grateful to establish the family’s name and some of these new cities as well,” Morgan disclosed.

Properties owned by Morgan Heritage in St Thomas, were impacted by the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

“Yes, we had some damage to our farm and a few crops, and we lost electricity but nothing like what the people on the western side of the island,” said Morgan.

Asked how the Morgan Heritage Foundation will be assisting with hurricane relief, he said, “We will be helping out just the same as all the other lovers of Jamaica and citizens around the world with clothes, water, the essentials like toiletries that people need as well as the donation of funds, helping people get a roof over their head and more.”

On December 12, Morgan joins Shaggy, Sean Paul, Inner Circle and several other acts at the UBS Arena in Queens, New York for a fundraising concert to assist with hurricane relief efforts.

“I am very much looking forward to the performance in New York on December 12 to raise funds to help Jamaica. It is amazing to see the leadership of Shaggy on this journey and everyone’s willingness to be a part of this amazing process,” he said.
