Crime Stop offers $200k reward for information on murder of American woman
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Crime Stop is offering a $200,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and charge of those involved in the murder of an American woman, who was found in bushes along the Long Hill roadway in St James last year.
The deceased is identified as Desiree Gibbon, 26, unemployed of Hollis, Queens, New York, United States.
According to Crime Stop, a groundsman was walking along the Long Hill roadway in St James about 7:30 am on Saturday, November 25, 2017, when he stumbled upon the body of Desiree Gibbon.
It is said that she was lying on her back and had what appeared to be chop wounds to the neck and back. The groundsman quickly summoned the police, and on arrival of the lawmen, they found a single room key with the number 216 on it.
Her body was removed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The police said there appeared to be no reason for this violent murder.
The offer expires November 30, 2019.
