Jahvel looks to 2019
This year producer Jahvel “Jahvy” Morrison was credited on three major hit songs, Alkaline’s Mirage and My Love , and Grimy by Teejay.
He intends to continue this trend throughout 2019.
“For the coming year, I intend to remain consistent with releases from major artistes; just to maintain continuous growth and development,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
Morrison explained how he got into production.
“I started doing production in 2012 after financial restraints caused me to leave college. I had to seek other opportunities that would allow me to continue doing music, which is something that I love,” he said.
He made his production debut with Don’t Give Up by Bugle.
During 2018 he released several projects via his Tru Ambassador label, including the Ignite and the Grimy rhythms.
The Ignite rhythm features Heartless Killaz by Alkaline, International by Shaq Royal, 1 Brand Dat by Sashie Cool, and Militance by Star Captyn.
The Grimy rhythm has Grimy by Teejay and Fight by Shaq Royal.
Jahvy, who is in his 20s, is originally from Linstead in St Catherine. He attended Charlemont High in Linstead. However, while pursuing a degree programme in Music Education at the Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts, he encountered financial difficulties and had to discontinue.
He has every intention of completing the programme, he says.
