Abrahams leaves AMCHAM for Supreme Ventures
Gail Abrahams has left the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Kingston and will head to Supreme Ventures in a senior capacity, the Jamaica Observer can report.
Abrahams, wife of gynaecologist, newspaper columnist and comedian Dr Michael Abrahams, headed AMCHAM as its chief executive for three years, following her departure from FLOW Jamaica. She also worked at GraceKennedy.
She will take up the post of Supreme Ventures’ Vice President for Marketing, Communication and Sponsorship on January 14.
According to her profile, Abrahams graduated from the University of the West Indies with a Bachelor’s degree in English, and an MBA in banking and finance from the Manchester Business School.
She also holds a diploma in public relations and was recently a member of the Women’s Leadership Initiative and the 2017 fellow of the International Women’s Foundation, where she was trained in Executive Leadership at both Harvard and INSEAD, respectively.
Supreme Ventures run the popular Jamaica lottery, as well as operations at Caymanas Park, Jamaica’s lone horse racing track.
