Melbourne Mind Game edge Seba 1-0 in Sandals Major League
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Melbourne Mind Game, last season’s beaten finalists, rebounded from their opening game loss to edge Seba FC 1-0 in their St James Football Association Sandals Resorts International Major League Zone One game at the UDC Field on Thursday.
Melbourne Mind Game, who were beaten 3-0 by Lilliput Rovers in their first game a week earlier, joined two more teams at the top of the points table in Zone One, all on three points.
Jeron Miller scored the game’s only goal in the 89th minute to snatch all three points as Seba FC lost for a second-straight game to start the season.
On Wednesday, Heights FC came from behind for a second-straight outing to earn a 1-1 draw against Bogue FC, who were also scoring a second-straight draw in their Zone Two game at the UDC Field.
Sanjay Patterson handed Bogue FC the lead in the 36th minute with his team’s first goal in the Major League after earning promotion last season, but Heights FC came back through a 50th minute goal from Ricardo Wilson who had started the season with RSPL club Montego Bay United.
Heights FC had come from three goals down in their first game to earn a 3-3 draw with Marl Road, while Bogue FC had played out a goalless draw against Montego Bay Boys Club.
MoBay City FC leads Zone Two with four points after a 2-0 win over Montego Bay Boys Club, followed by four clubs all on two points each.
