Manchester residents urged to look out for supermarket robbers
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The police are speculating that the suspects in a robbery at a supermarket in May Day, Manchester this morning may be hiding in one of the communities in the area.
The supermarket was reportedly robbed about 7:30 am.
The constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit CCU reported a motor car that was being driven by the suspects was found abandoned in May Day shortly after the incident.
As such, the lawmen are urging residents of May Day and surrounding communities such as Knockpatrick, Old England, Albion, Sunset and Hillside to be on the lookout for any strangers or untoward happenings in their community.
If anything unusual or any strange individual is observed, residents are being asked to immediately contact the police 119 emergency number or 811. They may also contact the Mandeville police at 876-961-5538 or the Newport police at 876-965-7253, said CCU.
