GenXS launches fourth carnival season with ‘INFINITI’ theme

KINGSTON, Jamaica — GenXS Carnival has officially launched its fourth season under the theme “INFINITI”, which aims to focus on cultural expression and national recovery as preparations begin for Carnival 2026.

Sections are presented by Shawn Dhanraj, David Dewer, Douglas John, Rhion Romany, and Kriston Milano, with the Limitless T-shirt section by Monét Flowers and Tobi-Gail Smith-Henry.

Band Leader and Director, Mala Morrison, said the focus this season is bigger than revelry.

“Communities are still rebuilding after Hurricane Melissa. Carnival puts income back into the hands of vendors, creatives, hospitality, and transport. Last season, the sector drove more than US$8 million in spending. Our plan this year prioritises safety, service and stronger entertainment to push that contribution further,” Morrison said.

The Jamaican season is anchored by Immortals J’Ouvert, the GenXS Road March, and Ocean X, with lead-up partner events to be confirmed. Masqueraders who purchase on the GenXS platform will receive a post-purchase email with a Jamaica Relief link powered by MasOS.

“GenXS is a road product and an events ecosystem,” said Kino Johnson, director. “Last season, we delivered partnered moments with Live in Love from Trinidad and Soca Camp, alongside our anchors Immortals J’Ouvert, the GenXS Road March, and Ocean X. For 2026, we have new event collaborations on the Carnival in Jamaica calendar, curated to lift the experience and strengthen the week. This drives value for patrons and sponsors, and importantly, more commerce within Jamaica.”

GenXS has also noted strong regional momentum. Sister band GenX Miami placed third in the Miami Band of the Year Showcase, and the Trinidad 2026 Tribe section is reported as oversubscribed. For 2026, Smirnoff, under the Red Stripe Group, returns as Title Sponsor, with partners KFC and Wisynco, and support from Massy Group.

The GenXS Band House opens at Sovereign Centre for the Christmas period and operates through early February 2026. For section details and registration, visit www.genxsjamaica.com and follow @genxscarnival on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
