JP inks one-year deal with Jamaica Football Federation

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Producers St Mary’s brand has entered into a one-year partnership agreement with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) designed to provide financial and nutrition support for the country’s national football teams.

Under the agreement, that became official at handing-over ceremony at the JFF’s Headquarters in Kingston on Wednesday, JP St Mary’s will provide $500,000 in cash and product support.

“We understand that we must play a vital role in nation building. It is the mandate of the JP St Mary’s brand to assist our nation in any which way we can and so we wanted to make sure that all players on the JFF National teams receive the right nutrients and ensure that they are properly nourished specifically during competition season,” said Tara Goulbourne, commercial manager at JP Tropical Foods.

According to a statement from JP, the sponsorship provides support for the Reggae Girlz Senior Team and the Reggae Boyz Senior and Junior Team.

JFF President Michael Ricketts was delighted about JP St Mary’s coming on board at this particular juncture.

“We have always cherished this relationship, especially in a year when our girls will be participating at the highest level,” Ricketts said, referring to Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz participation in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France later this year.

“It is the first time Jamaica will be qualifying, the first time a team from the Caribbean will be qualifying. All these girls have become addicted to your product, so we just want to say a big thank you.”

Ricketts also thanked the company for its loyalty to the JFF, highlighting that the relationship between the two entities goes back a few years.
