Live social media show for Sagicor Sigma Run 2019

KINGSTON, Jamaica — People around the world will be able to tune in live on social media tomorrow to watch the 21st staging of the Sagicor Sigma Run in New Kingston, Jamaica.

The live show will be aired on Sagicor Group Jamaica Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages starting at 6:45 am.

According to the organisers, viewers will get to experience the largest Caribbean road race in all its glory – with a record breaking 27,028 registrants filling the street of the business district in New Kingston.

The live show will feature the start and finish of the 5K run, with interview highlights from the race participants, the entertainment package and various stakeholders of the event.

The show’s hosts are media personality, content creator and Daytime Live producer, Odessa Chambers and Daytime Live host, Joel Nomdarkham. In addition to interactions with participants, there will also be live chats with sponsors of Sigma Run as well as with patrons, Olympian Yohan Blake and supermodel Stacey McKenzie.

Alysia White, Sigma Run Team Lead and Assistant Vice President, Group Marketing, Sagicor Group Marketing, noted that the live show is another opportunity and platform to for people who are not able to participate to share in the Sigma Run experience and get to see the event from a different perspective.

“We will also be using the live show to appeal to Jamaicans at home and in the Diaspora to donate to our beneficiaries,” she said.

All proceeds of the charity run will be helping the Lupus Foundation of Jamaica, the Diabetes Association of Jamaica and the May Pen Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run has accrued more than $350 million in donations for over 30 beneficiaries since inception. The event raised $50 million in cash and kind for the Spanish Town Hospital’s Neonatal Unit and St Christopher’s School for Deaf in 2018.
