Reggae Girlz dolls — ‘Strike Hard’
The island’s leading doll producer, Island Dolls Plus Collection, is striking hard after receiving permission from the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) to produce the official Reggae Girlz Dolls.
It was indeed sheer jubilation in the company’s camp when the news broke.
Beverley Robotham-Reynolds, CEO at Island Dolls, indicated that she was humbled and elated to be a part of this historic event when given the opportunity to produce the dolls and thereby promoting Brand Jamaica as all the outfits and assembling of the dolls will be done in Jamaica.
She first studied the composition of the team members and decided that one doll would not represent the team, so there are five dolls in the collection, with different skin tones and hairstyles thereby representing our motto, “Out of Many One People”. The dolls are beautifully attired in outfits similar to the Reggae Girlz and come with a hang tag about their journey to France 2019.
Island Dolls in no stranger to producing merchandise for sporting events, as over the years the company has done merchandise for the 2003 World Netball Championship held in Jamaica, the Sunshine Girls, The Reggae Boyz in 2004, ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 held in the Caribbean, and in 2017 was given the license to use Usain Bolt’s To the World pose on T/Shirts worn by the company’s Patois-Speaking Jamaican Reggae Dolls.
Presently the dolls can be found at The Craft Cottage, My Jamaica, Sun Island Jamaica, Casa de Xaymaca at both International Airports and the JFF. In addition, the dolls will be available at the various events for the Reggae Girlz. For those outside of Kingston and the Diaspora, they too can get their own Reggae Girlz Dolls by obtaining information and other locations from islanddolls1@gmail.com on how to purchase these memorable dolls.
