Bright forecast for Kolohe Kai
Hawaiian reggae singer Kolohe Kai scores his first number one on this week’s Billboard Reggae Albums Chart with his sophomore set Summer to Winter. It sold 547 copies in its opening week.
The 19-song album was released February 19 by RKD Inc. It is the second title to chart for the artiste, whose given name is Roman De Peralta. In 2014, he reached number three with Paradise.
Sting and Shaggy’s Grammy-winning 44/876 has sold 52,609 copies, selling an additional 150 copies last week to hold firm at number two. The album is in its 44th week on the chart.
Last week’s number one, Still Kickin’ by Landon McNamara, is number three. VP Records’ Strictly the Best 58 rises to number four, having gone number one a few weeks ago.
Moving up one spot to number five is Everyday Life, Everyday People by Slightly Stoopid. Now in its 30th week on the chart, the set also went number one and has sold 15,249 copies to date.
G.O.A.T. by Machel Montano spent a week at number one, then fell to number four. This week, the Trinidadian soca star drops to number six with total sales of 611 copies.
The self-titled set from Iration, which peaked at number two, is down to number seven. A regular in the Top 10 for the past 36 weeks, Iration has sold 9,580 copies.
Rising from number 12 to eight is Strictly the Best 59, which peaked at number three a few weeks ago. It has so far sold 352 copies.
Public Confidential by The Beat featuring Ranking Roger slips to number nine, while the long-running Free Rein by Rebelution, another former number one, falls to number 10. To date, it has sold 19,962 units.
