Accused baby thief to return to court April 18
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A bail application is expected to be made next month for the woman accused of snatching a day-old baby from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital on January 9.
Peta-Gay Ffrench was taken into custody last month when she attempted to register the baby at the Registrar General Department in Twickenham Park in St Catherine.
Ffrench, 27, of an Harkers Hall, St Catherine address was later charged with child stealing after DNA test revealed that she was not the mother.
Ffrench’s attorney Rachel Donaldson told the court that she attempted to finalize a date for a bail application with the clerk of the court because she was concerned about the length of time the ongoing investigation will take.
Ffrench was further remanded. She’s to return to court on April 18.
