#Champs2019: Holmwood’s Williams in discus registers record number 6
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Cedricka Williams of Holmwood Technical achieved record number six of the 109th ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Championships with victory in the girls’ Class Three discus.
Williams won with a mark of 42.47m bettering the previous best of 42.28m set by Paul-Ann Gayle of Edwin Allen in 2012.
She won ahead of Edwin Allen’s Damali Williams (40.43m) and Shanara Richards (39.13m) of Clarendon College.
With Williams’s win, Holmwood Technical edged closer to the leaders in sixth on 27 points after 10 events scored.
Defending champions Edwin Allen continues to lead on 63 points, followed by St Jago on 42 with Rusea’s Hugh being relegated to third on 35.
Hydel (31) and Immaculate Conception (30) make up the top five so far.
