National Land Agency launches Online Surveyor Search Request Service
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Land Agency (NLA) has launched its Online Surveyor Search Request Service (OSSRS), which provides a convenient method of completing the search and request of documents used primarily by land surveyors.
Through OSSRS, surveyors no longer have to visit the NLA’s Documentation Centre to access scanned copies of subdivision plans, survey diagrams, and information available on microfilm.
The NLA says in order to access the service customers will need to open a deposit account with the agency, by making a request in writing to; The Senior Director, Surveys and Mapping Division, 23 ½ Charles Street, Kingston.
The Online Surveyor Search Request Service is accessed via the NLA’s website: www.nla.gov.jm.
The agency outlined that once customers have completed the online form, and provided payment has been received, the documents will be processed and delivered electronically within two business days.
“The National Land Agency is committed to providing an efficient and transparent land information system. We are therefore cognisant of the need to ensure that our customers are able to access the information in a timely and convenient manner, as the Agency is aware that time is of the essence in the administration of land,” Acting Senior Director for Business Services Nicole Hayles noted.
Hayles added that “the agency has received the support of the surveying community for the implementation of OSSRS, and we are happy that this is just another step in the furtherance of the NLA providing quality service to our customers.”
The Online Surveyor Search Request Service utilizes technology to allow customers to request and complete their searches without having to visit our office.
