#Champs2019: One-two finishes, records for Jago, KC in Classes 1&2 110m hurdles
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Vashaun Vascianna led a one-two finish for St Jago in the boys’ Class two 110m hurdles final, while Wayne Pinnock also led a Kingston College one-two in the Class one event on the final day of the 109th staging of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletic Championships underway at the National Stadium.
Vascianna who won the Class two 100m title on Friday night, once again stamped his class to secure a second gold in a record 13.26 in a negative 0.4 metres per second reading.
He lowered his old record of 13.35 set last year.
Jahvel Granville also of St Jago was second in 13.43, with Neil-Matthew Sutherland (13.75) of Jamaica College in third.
Meanwhile, Pinnock who smashed the long jump record a few days earlier, returned to annihilate the class one hurdles record.
The fleet-footed Pinnock clocked 13.06 in a negative 0.4 metres per second wind reading to lower the old record of 13.10 set last year by Calabar’s Dejour Russell, who was fourth in the event.
KC’s Akeem Cargill (13.28) closed well for second on the outside with Rasheed Broadbell (13.33) of St Jago in third.
