A cry for the runaways
Deejay Aldeno and singer Miss Joey recently joined forces to deliver a poignant message with the song, Runaway , which addresses troubling issues.
“ Runaway was created to establish a movement, a movement to stop child abuse, child neglect and human trafficking. We want this song to encourage victims to speak out. We also want the leaders to put the right arrangements and strategies in place so that when victims do speak out, their safety can be ensured,” Aldeno explained.
He said he has seen persons who have experienced child abuse.
“I know a lot of youth from the ghetto who are suffering from these things. And because of what they go through, some of them are victims of post-traumatic stress,” Aldeno added.
Produced by his Aldeno Productions, Runaway was released early this year by Zojak World Wide.
Thirty-year-old Aldeno Stewart has been recording music since his teens. He is from Trench Town and has worked with artistes including singjay Lanz.
Miss Joey (given name Joey Brooks) is the sister of Mavado.
