Man killed, woman injured in Kingston shooting
DETECTIVES assigned to the Kingston Central Police Division are probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man and the injuring of a woman on King Street, downtown Kingston, on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Jermaine Rutherford, a 41-year-old labourer of Tower Street, Kingston.
The Kingston Central police said about 3:45 pm Rutherford was allegedly attacked by an armed man, who opened fire, hitting him. The woman, who was in close proximity, was shot and injured during the incident. Both were taken to hospital, where Rutherford was pronounced dead and the woman admitted.
