Cooking With a Purpose
On Sunday, the Portmore Lodge, spearheaded by frontman Leighton McKnight, held its annual Fathers Who Cook On Mother’s Day event at Ham Stables, Bernard Lodge Road in St Catherine.
Scores of mothers were relieved of their usual culinary obligations when men took control of the stoves and grills in celebration of Mother’s Day. The guests of honour were tended to by a dream team of master chefs, inclusive of renowned politicians and businessmen, donning aprons and delivering on delectable dishes that satisfied every palate.
Hunger satiated, mothers were then serenaded by the soulful musical stylings of Dwight Richards and DiMario McDowell.
The event, which is on its sixth staging, is charity-oriented with proceeds in aid of the St Catherine-based Clifton Basic School and the Green Frog Gray Elephant Foundation.
The goals of the initiative were further actualised by major sponsors GraceKennedy Group and Gas Pro Limited, which provided amenities free of cost, as well as Fidelity Motors Limited and Stewart’s Automotive Group.
Of course, Tuesday Social made the guest list and secured the sumptuous highlights.
