AdMark wins best in category at American Advertising Awards
Advertising & Marketing (Ja) won the Best in Category of Radio Advertising award, known as “The Charlie Award”, from all of radio advertising in the fourth district of the American Advertising Federation at the recently held 58th American Advertising Federation (AAF) Fourth District’s ADDY Awards.
The commercial was produced on behalf of AdMark’s client, The Best Dressed Chicken; a part of the Jamaica Broilers Group. In the radio spot, the agency conducted an immigration officer type of interview of chicken coming into Jamaica, asking questions like “How long have you been at sea?” and “How long have you been frozen?”to support the message that local chicken is fresher.
“We were able to win this award because of the relationship we have with the team at The Best Dressed Chicken and Jamaica Broilers. Being given the opportunity to create something that is not expected is rare and working with that team has been special from day one. They were not only receptive to a new way of thinking, but they encourage it and want more. It is a relationship that we cherish,” said Arnold JJ Foote, CEO and chief creative officer at AdMark via news release.
“This brings our total award winnings so far this season to 30. On top of the Best In Radio Advertising – Charlie Award, AdMark won two Gold Addy’s and one Silver Addy for The Best Dressed Chicken, Flow Jamaica and LASCO Konka at districts, as well as 26 more at Caribbean Regionals for Flow Evo, General Accident and Flow Social Media. This supports the fact that locally created and produced advertising can compete and win against international brands with international budgets.”
Foote said that receiving the award is one of AdMark’s most noteworthy accomplishments and called it a true “agency-client joint win” giving credit to the team at AdMark, whose collective efforts made it possible to create ideas that aren’t just “outside the box”, but removing the box completely.
Mike Weber, chair of this year’s ADDY Awards and district governor, praised the efforts of AdMark saying, “With so many entries every year, it can be a challenge to select one winner in the radio advertising campaign category, but it was clear that Advertising & Marketing (Ja) Ltd took an important and timely topic and started a conversation around it, which can certainly be a challenge on an audio-only platform.”
The award ceremony was held on Saturday, May 4 at the Chapman-Leonard Studios in Orlando, Florida, as a celebration of excellence in advertising and a cultivation of the highest creative standards in the industry.
Attracting nearly 30,000 professional entries each year nationwide, the ADDY’s is among the world’s largest and most comprehensive advertising competitions.
