Jabez says Thank You

Gospel singer Jabez says this year’s staging of Thank You Mama was the most successful ever.

“The turnout was great! On estimate, there were over 1,000 people. It’s a special day for mothers and it’s been 10 years, so every year people look forward to it. The artistes were also great and people are really hungry for this event every year,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

The Mother’s Day special was held on the lawns of Dinthill Technical High school in Linstead, St Catherine.

Jabez (given name Clive Provost) was also pleased with the evening’s production.

“This is the best production so far, in terms of staging and lighting. There were also lot of giveaways…it was outdoors so the ambiance was good. We also had an international act who delivered,” he said.

The singer, who is also a pastor at the Family Love Church in Linstead, was joined by other acts such as Floridian Adrian Cunningham, Rian Davis, Morgie, and Junior Rumble.

Hailing from the Linstead community, Jabez (given name Clive Provost) has made a name for himself in gospel circles. His sophomore set, Reconnect, which was released in December, debuted at number 33 on the Billboard Reggae Album chart at the end of January 2017.

He is known for songs including Drinking From my Saucer, Warrior O and Mi Know Say Mi Blessed.
