STETHS blank Newell to maintain lead in Zone E
Leaders St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) showed the way, as the top-three schools in Zone E scored wins in their return-round games to separate themselves from the rest in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/Wata daCosta Cup football competition, yesterday.
STETHS repeated their 4-0 win over Newell High to move to 20 points, while Munro College edged Lacovia High 1-0 to move to 15 points, one point ahead of Maggotty High, who blanked Black River High 3-0
. Antonio Biggs, Guiliani Forbes, Mustaq Christopher and Jevaughnie Coleman got on the scoresheet to maintain STETHS’s five-point lead.
Maggotty got goals from Peteroy Jones, Shemar Dacres and Davil Alexander, as they extended their unbeaten run to five games. They remain in contention for one of the two automatic spots in the second round.
Munro College improved on their 1-1 draw against Lacovia High with their slim victory yesterday.
