Sagicor reaches acme with ‘Summit’
That quake you felt last weekend was the Sagicor Group, through its #SMS2019, taking things to the next level. Fact is, the group dominated social media, streaming live from Iberostar’s Rose Hall trio of hotels and the Montego Bay Convention Centre. With presentations from Sagicor’s in-house success stories, renowned motivational speakers and a unique, inspirational laughter session with American comedian, TV host, and motivational speaker Steve Harvey, the team was re-energised and ready to wrap the weekend with a star-studded reggae concert dubbed ‘Summit’.
The show opened with the melodious sounds of Jamaican reggae singer Romain Virgo, whose lovers’ rock style held female audience members captive for his hour-long performance, which included hits like Mi Caan Sleep and Love Doctor . Child singing sensation Tashae Silvera later joined Virgo onstage.
Reggae songbird Lila Ike’s soulful voice also spilled through the speakers and enveloped the theatre at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. Ike delivered hits like Second Chance and Sweet Inspiration before reggae singer and songwriter Protoje joined her onstage for a dynamic performance, after which he continued solo, serving up songs from his catalogue, including the well-received Who Knows , to the delight of Sagicorians.
With performances aside and the crowd in no rush to leave, Coppershot worked the overnight shift with stellar selections that put the audience in a dancing state of mind.
