$2million flows from Crystal Spring Water into Run For Your Heart 5K, 2K
HEART Foundation of Jamaica is targeting at least 3,000 participants for its Crystal Spring Water/Run For Your Heart 5K Run/Walk and 2K Run, to be held on Sunday, February 2, 2020, according to Romaro Samuels, product manager at Cari-Med Group Limited, who made the announcement at a press launch held at the Heart Foundation of Jamaica offices on Wednesday.
Samuels said his company was proud to continue its partnership with the Heart Foundation of Jamaica (HFJ), in its quest to ensure Jamaicans have a longer and better quality of life through the prevention and control of cardiovascular disease in our nation.
“We acknowledge the need rather than the cause of just giving a donation as we strive to lead by example, inspiring others to follow and make a difference. Heartiest commendations to the HFJ team, its title sponsor Crystal Spring Water, and Running Events on the successful execution of last year’s 5K, and now the resurgence of Run For Your Heart 5K 2020,” he said.
He said last year Crystal Spring’s 100 per cent Jamaican Spring Water invested $1.5 million in cash sponsorship towards the Heart Foundation’s mega fund-raiser, and they are now extremely proud to announce that for this staging as title sponsors they will be doubling their efforts and raising their investment to $2,000,000.
Samuels has encouraged everyone to be a life-changer and a heart hero in supporting the 5K Heart Run. “Register a friend, co-worker, relative, and even your foes — as they too have a right for life.
“Our target is to have 3,000 or more participants, and additionally, you can be an unsung hero with your purchase of each bottle of Crystal Spring Water 500ml and 1.5l. One dollar from your purchase will be donated to the Heart Foundation of Jamaica.”
Registration is open to all individuals and teams, schools, corporate, running clubs and other groups, and race director Alfred “Frano” Francis of Running Events, said the Early Bird Special on or before December 15, 2019 will see individuals paying $1,200; ‘Be A Heart Hero’ two for one special for $2,000; and teams of 25 people or more is $1,000 per person.
For regular registration on or after December 16, 2019, individuals will require $1,500 per person, and for teams with 25 people or more it is $1,200 for each person.
