Arnett edge Portmore 1-0 in Red Stripe Premier League
Arnett Gardens clipped defending champions Portmore 1-0 in their Red Stripe Premier League match at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex Monday night (Oct 21).
Rickardo Oldham scored the lone goal of the match in the 58th
minute, which moves Arnett up to 11 points and three places up the points
standing to sixth. Portmore remain eighth on 10 points.
It was Arnett’s third win from eight matches, with Portmore suffering four losses also from eight matches.
Oldham tapped the ball into the net from inside the six-yard box, as he ended a build-up down the left flank that had Vishinul Harris crossing inside to him from the goal line. It was the end result of constant pressure by Arnett for a lengthy
period, during which they created and wasted many scoring opportunities.
